The inspiration for The Medicine Loom emerged out of my ever-evolving meditations on Classical Chinese Medicine and Vegetalismo, a path of plant spirit medicine among the Quechua-Lamista and Shipibo cultures of the Peruvian Amazon basin. In both of these paths we see a clear awareness of the woven energetic fabric that stands behind the manifest world, and how direct perception of this fabric was the skillset of the upper-level physician who treats disease at the level of energy and spirit. This blog, then, is an attempt to collate and share my research on the path of the upper-level physician from the lenses of Chinese medicine and Vegetalismo.
