“To treat disease, one must seek the root.”

Dr. Justin Gere, DSOM, L.Ac

Born, raised and educated in the Pacific Northwest, Justin holds a doctorate of Science and Oriental Medicine (NUNM, Portland ‘19) and has been in practice since 2021. He gravitated towards the art of Chinese herbal formulism early in his education and mentored under Dr. Heiner Fruehauf and Micheal Givens, learning how to apply the principles of Classical Chinese Medicine to meet the needs of modern times. His interest in pulse diagnosis, psychology and acupuncture led him to further study the Shen-Hammer pulse diagnosis system during his mentorship with Brandt Stickley, L.Ac.

At the heart of Justin’s clinical approach is the 3-fold hermetic worldview of Classical Chinese medicine: that Spirit informs energy and energy informs matter. Organ dysfunction is intimately woven into the relationships between our spiritual, psychological, and emotional landscapes and is further tethered to our constitution, life history, lifestyle and environmental circumstances. Chinese herbal formulation is a sound clinical method that reminds and advances the organ systems towards their optimal function, rhythm and relationship to all other organs. This approach can be used to provide a diverse range of care, from cardiovascular and respiratory conditions to digestive issues, back pain, joint pain, reproductive health and beyond.
